My “Un-Put-Downable” Book Recs
Last week one of my best friends texted me looking for book recommendations (this is my absolute favorite type of text to get, by the way). First she asked about series recommendations, and young adult, but as we talked about what she was really in the mood for, she said, "I just want a book I can’t put down.”
I proceeded to send her some of the books I’ve read over the past several months that I considered “un-put-downable.” These are books I absolutely devoured and thought about every minute I wasn’t actually reading. And here I am, sharing them with you, along with the exact explanations/summaries I gave to my friend. Enjoy!
-
This is a memoir written by an actual diagnosed sociopath. SO GOOD.
-
This is a YA fantasy series so it might not totally be your jam, but it’s probably one of the best series I’ve ever read. I’m on the third book now and it’s all I think about. Starts kind of slow but about halfway through book one I was enthralled.
-
Thriller that reads like a true crime filled with badass fucking women raging against a system that loves to romanticize serial killers. Female rage in a book.
-
Romance but no smut and also one of the most incredible descriptions of a first kiss. The main characters have the type of banter that had me smiling and kicking my feet the whole time.
-
Kind of horror, kind of thriller, kind of scathing look at race in the country through revenge murders. A truly phenomenal book.
-
Fiction/mystery. A father goes missing and the last person with him is his nonverbal, disabled son. So good.
